Luther Battle Quote

I thought this quote from Martin Luther was worth posting and thinking about:
"If I profess with the loudest voice and clearest exposition every portion of the truth of God except precisely that little point which the world and the devil are at that moment attacking, I am not confessing Christ, however boldly I may be professing Christ. Where the battle rages, there the loyalty of the soldier is proved; and to be steady on all the battlefield besides is mere flight and disgrace if he flinches at that point."

Summer Timo!

Hey, you didn't tell me you brought the camera...!

It's hot! The rainy season is over, but has graciously left us (dumped, actually) much heat and humidity. There's more wind outside than inside, so sometimes we go up to the roof to escape the heat, depending on the time of day and where the sun is. Yoko is building up a cute little garden there, so it's nice to hang out there sometimes. I need to do that more!

I'd like to thank the American people for electing me...

On July 1st we took Timo up there and taught him how to sit in his little chair. It was a new experience for him, and I think he got a kick out of it.

AAAAH! I did it! Mwahaha, the world is mine!

Recently he's been expanding his crazy facial vocabulary. Click on the picture to see the insanity up close, hehe.

Neeigh! Ribbit! Woof! Meow! Cackle?

Here he is playing with an animal puzzle our friend Dara got him.

Don't let my serious face fool you -- I'm excited, really!

Depending on how hot the day is, we try not to use too much A/C. But sometimes we have to give in! On this particular day (July 11th) we sweated it out using the fans. Yoko took this picture of me sitting next to Timo while he enjoyed watching the children's programming on NHK.

More Than My Master (O My Husband!)

No One Like You

The Bridegroom:
O My precious dove, My forsaken one
Hurt and desolate, hear Me call in love
You have ravished and so enthralled this King
I gave My life for you, so that you might sing

My beloved, O My beloved
More than your Master
I am your Lover

In your deserts and valleys of trouble
Know My heart for you is unshakeable
And through brokenness you will be restored
Washed and radiant, honored by your Lord

And forever I'll look into your eyes
O My ransomed love
My beloved bride

The Bride:
Precious Son of God, the forsaken One
Desolate for me, I hear Your cry of love
You have ravished and enthralled me, my King
I give my life to You, and to You I sing

O my Husband, O my Husband
More than my Master
You are my Lover

In my deserts and valleys of trouble
I know Your heart for me is unshakeable
And through brokenness I will be restored
Washed and radiant, honoring my Lord

And forever I'll look into Your eyes
As Your ransomed love
Your beloved bride
